Overview

There are multiple ways to identify the model or SKU number of a Just Add Power 2G Series Encoder or Decoder. This article outlines two primary methods:

1. Command Line Interface (CLI)

2. Physical Identification

Command Line Interface (CLI)

Note: This method requires devices running firmware version Firmware A6.4.12 or later.

In environments where physical access to a device is limited, you can determine whether a unit is a transmitter or receiver by issuing a command via Telnet or SSH (e.g., using PuTTY). Connect to the device and enter the following command:

getmodel.sh

Important: Due to the way 2G Series models were manufactured, this command will return only the model number—not the full SKU.

Physical Identification

Each Just Add Power device has a model number printed on the top of the unit. However, this printed label typically does not include the corresponding SKU. To assist with visual identification, reference images are provided in this section to help you match the device model to its SKU number.
