2G Series - Set 2G Mode for Omega & Ultra Series Devices

Overview

2G Mode expands the backwards-compatibility available in the Just Add Power HDMI over IP system.

All Omega and select Ultra Series devices can be set into 2G Mode. When a device is in 2G Mode, it is compatible with 2G Series devices and has all of the capabilities of a 2G Series device. This also disables the extra features in the Omega/Ultra Series devices - 4K, video rotation, video scaler, expanded audio, etc.

Compatible Firmware

The following versions have compatibility between the 2G Series and Omega/Ultra Series Systems:

Set 2G Mode

To set an Omega or Ultra Series device into 2G Mode, send this command through telnet or the web interface:

2gmode.sh

Remove 2G Mode

(Default) To remove an Omega or Ultra device out of 2G Mode, send this command through telnet or the web interface:

3gmode.sh

justOS

justOS firmware (Bx.x.x) removes 2G Mode. If a device was in 2G Mode when it was updated, the device will revert to 3G Mode. The setting is not removed, but the setting has no meaning in justOS; downgrading the firmware back to a compatible version will re-apply 2G Mode.
