Overview

KVM Support describes the ability for a USB Human Interface Device (HID) like a keyboard, mouse, or touchscreen to connect to a Decoder and send input back to a Encoder connected to the endpoint controlled device. Combined with native video, Just Add Power is an Audio/Video Matrixing and a KVM Switching solution at the same time.

The USB between connection between the Decoder and Encoder may not link automatically. See the specifics for the system you have for instructions for activating USB.

Point-to-Point Setup

In a point-to-point system, the Decoder <-> Encoder USB link activates immediately - as the devices power on - and provides intuitive control. Connect and go!

Matrixed Setup

In a multi-Encoder KVM architecture, each KVM Decoder maintains control over a single Encoder at any given time. A KVM Encoder supports up to seven simultaneous USB peripheral endpoints, which can be distributed across multiple KVM Decoders.

Switching to a different source will move KVM control to the active source.

When watching a source with no USB connection, the peripheral devices will do nothing.
