Overview
Just Add Power Omega and Ultra Series systems support KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) over USB, allowing USB peripherals connected at a Decoder to control a source connected to an Encoder.
For a broader explanation of KVM use cases and examples, see: KVM Support Overview
Supported Firmware
USB-based KVM functionality is supported on all Omega / Ultra Series firmware version:
- B1.2.1 or greater
KVM Commands
Command: Connect
The KVM (USB) link between a Decoder and an Encoder does not connect automatically. To establish the KVM connection, send the appropriate command to the Decoder.
-
Firmware B3.0.0 and later:
usb connect -
Firmware B2.0.0 through B2.3.9:

Supported KVM Devices
Omega and Ultra Series systems support up to five (5) USB devices simultaneously controlling a single Encoder. If more than five USB devices attempt to connect, the system will drop devices in the order they were originally connected, keeping only the five most recently connected devices active.
Supported USB device types include USB 2.0 Bulk devices, such as:
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- Touchscreen
- Gaming controller or joystick
- USB flash drive
- PTZ camera control devices
