Concepts:

Chromakey Content - The content that uses the Chromakey Color to separate the screen into Key Region and Foreground Region
Chromakey Color
- The color (or range of colors) to be removed from the Chromakey Content
Key Region - The space of the Chromakey Content that contains the Chromakey Color
Foreground Region - The space of the Chromakey Content that is NOT the Chromakey Color

RX1 - Shows in the Key Region
RX2
- Unused in Chromakey. For best results, set to be the same source as RX1.
RX3
- Shows in the Foreground Region
RX4 - Chromakey Content

Command:

chromakey.sh RRGGBB X

Variables:

RRGGBB = 24-bit RGB hex color value
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_colors

X = the tolerance level around the color to key out
X can be any value from 1 to 16. The Chromakey Content will determine how wide the tolerance needs to be.
X = 1 will show only the RGB color specified.
Higher values of X widen the color range of the Key Region

Command Examples:

1) Set pure green to be the chromakey color with a variance of 5. Variance value will need to be modified based on the content.

chromakey.sh 00ff00 5

2) Disable chromakey.

chromakey.sh off

Requirements:

  1. A 2G+4+ Video Tiler that has been updated by Just Add Power to have the latest firmware (Requires an update to microprocessors that cannot be done through the web UI. Contact Just Add Power Support for details.)
  2. 3 pieces of content: Key Region, Foreground Region, and Chromakey Content

Process:

1) Set RX1 and RX2 to watch the content that will be the Key Region - area to replace the Chromakey Color.

2) Set RX3 to watch the content that will be the Foreground Region - area not replaced by the Chromakey Color.

3) Set RX4 to watch the content that will be the Chromakey Content - content that uses the Key Color to separate the screen into Key Region and Foreground Region.

4) Set the tiler into Layout Mode 1 (_4in1_layout.sh 1)

5) Set the Primary Video to be RX1 (_4in1_primary_video.sh 1)

Single-screen pre-chromakey

6) Send the chromakey command to remove the color of your choice from the Chromakey Content, replace it with the Key Region, and make the remaining space the Foreground Region.
