Roku Resolution Handshake Issue

Roku Resolution Handshake Issue:

This fixes an issue where the ROKU does not forget a previous EDID handshake. This command will take a Roku from Auto Detect Resolution to 1080p/60, without needing to see the device's picture. You need to know the current IP address of the Roku. After executing the steps, any capable resolution can be set, such as 4K/30.

  1. Use a Web Browser to reach: remoku.tv
  2. Click the "Settings" option
  3. Designate the Roku IP Address under the "Manual Add" Section.
  4. Click the "Goodies" option
  5. Paste the following string into the macro section:

{"keypress":"Home"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"wait":"00:00:03"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"Select"}

  1. Change the name of the Macro to "Test"
  2. Click Save
  3. Select Test from the Macro List (Click the existing Macro Name to reach the list)
  4. Click Run
  5. Wait 30 seconds

Logic may also be used to change from 4K/60 HDR setting to 1080p/60 via the following command:

{"keypress":"Home"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"down"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"keypress":"Select"},{"wait":"00:00:03"},{"keypress":"up"},{"keypress":"Select"}

***Works on Roku software 8.0 and later
