Overview
Advanced Matrix Programmer (AMP) – Standardized Configuration is the preferred method for configuring Just Add Power systems, offering the best performance and reliability for video distribution. AMP fully supports Luxul switches for this setup.
When AMP’s Standardized Configuration cannot be used due to project requirements, you can configure a Luxul switch for Multicast Switching by following the instructions in this article.
All Just Add Power Encoders and Decoders should be configured using AMP – Alternate Configuration.
The Multicast Switching Protocol is supported on firmware version B2.1.0 and later.

Download Configuration Files
Use the pre-built configuration files below to quickly prepare a Luxul switch for Just Add Power Multicast Switching.
Each file includes default settings optimized for Just Add Power video networks:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
- VLAN 1 (Data Network) IP: 192.168.0.4 /24
- VLAN 2 (Video Network) IP: 172.17.255.254 /16
- Default Gateway (Router): 192.168.0.1
Modify Configuration Files
If your network settings differ from the defaults, you can modify the configuration files included in the download package. Follow the steps below to make the necessary adjustments:
- Start with the pre-built Primary switch configuration file.
- Update the Default Gateway to match the IP address of the router at the jobsite.
- Update the VLAN 1 IP address to match the subnet used by the router and control system.
