Overview

DirecTV 4K receivers require specific video capabilities to be advertised by the display’s EDID. When connected through a Just Add Power system, the DirecTV receiver reads the EDID from the Encoder. To ensure proper 4K output, the Encoder’s EDID must be configured according to the product series used: MaxColor Series, Ultra Series, or Omega Series.

Firmware B2.x.x

Firmware B2.0.0 introduced an updated default EDID that supports 4K60 as the Maximum Video Resolution. However, firmware updates do not overwrite existing EDIDs in order to preserve any custom EDID configurations already applied.

Because of this, the Encoder will still display “Default EDID” in the web interface even if the older B1.x.x EDID is still active. There is no way for the web interface to differentiate between the two default versions.

Please follow the configuration steps below even if the web interface reports “Default EDID.”
