Overview

The Just Add Power MaxColor Series is a 4K60, 36-bit color, 4:4:4 color format HDMI over IP distribution matrix.

Every MaxColor system requires 4 components:

  1. One MaxColor Decoder per display
  2. One MaxColor Encoder per source
  3. Managed gigabit Ethernet switch with enough ports for Encoders and Decoders
  4. IP-based control system

Each Encoder and Decoder requires a dedicated cat5e (or greater) network cable coming from the switch location.

See our full Product Catalog and use the resources below to choose the right Series to fit the installation requirements and find control system drivers to manage it all.

MaxColor Series devices are NOT compatible with Ultra Series devices, but there are bridging options for adding MaxColor devices to an Ultra system already in-place.

Part 1: Choose Decoders and Encoders

We offer multiple models of Decoders and Encoders to support different hardware requirements at endpoints, and all models within the MaxColor Series work together. Choose the model that has the features you need at each endpoint.

Consider adding ST1 Stereo Encoder/Decoders as audio-only inputs and outputs that seamlessly combine with standard Encoders and Decoders.

Part 2: Consider Accessory Parts

If the installation needs the ability to view multiple videos on the same display, consider adding a MaxColor MC-QX Tiling Encoder.

If the installation needs to store individual units in the rack, consider adding a Rack Shelf.

Part 3: Choose a Network

Just Add Power supports two types of network designs, based on the networking requirements of the jobsite:

  1. Standardized configuration - VLAN Switching
  2. Alternate configuration - Multicast Switching

Please see here for Choosing A System that works best for your client's infrastructure needs.

Once you decide, download Advanced Matrix Programmer software to setup either type of system.

Part 4: Control System & Drivers

We support a range of IP-based control systems - some developed by us, others developed by industry partners - to give you as the Installer the ability to provide the perfect experience for your client.

An IP-based Control System will allow full control of all things Just Add Power.
