Just Add Power devices have 2 green lights on the front of the device that are diagnostically relevant: a Power Light and a Data Light. On a rackmount unit, the lights on the port-side are diagnostically relevant.

Receiver Interpretation:

A Receiver with a solid Power Light and blinking Data Light has:

  • Booted up properly
  • An active network connection (not necessarily to another Just Add Power device)

A Receiver with a solid Power Light and blinking Data Light does NOT have:

  • a compatible video signal from a Transmitter
    • Transmitter is not receiving video from the source
    • Receiver is not on the same firmware as the Transmitter
    • Receiver is not on the same IP scheme as the Transmitter
    • The Receiver is unable to communicate with the Transmitter over the network

Transmitter Interpretation:

A Transmitter with a solid Power Light and blinking Data Light has:

  • Booted up properly
  • An active network connection (not necessarily to another Just Add Power device)

A Transmitter with a solid Power Light and blinking Data Light does NOT have:

  • An active video source
    • No video source is connected to the Transmitter
    • Video source attached to the Transmitter is not powered on
    • Video source attached to the Transmitter is passing an incompatible video signal
