Just Add Power devices have 2 green lights on the front of the device that are diagnostically relevant: a Power Light and a Data Light. On a rackmount unit, the lights on the port-side are diagnostically relevant.
Receiver Interpretation:
A Receiver with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light has:
- Booted up properly
- An active network connection to an active Transmitter
- A compatible video signal from a Transmitter
A Receiver with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light does NOT NECESSARILY have:
- An active HDMI connection to a display
- The Receiver will show solid Power and Data Lights regardless of the status of its HDMI connection
- Layer 3 access
- Power and Data Lights only indicate video traffic accessibility; not general network accessibility.
Transmitter Interpretation:
A Transmitter with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light has:
- Booted up properly
- An active network connection (not necessarily to another Just Add Power device)
- An active HDMI connection to a source outputting video
A Transmitter with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light does NOT NECESSARILY have:
- A Receiver that is watching the Transmitter
- The Transmitter will show solid Power and Data Lights regardless of how many Receivers are correctly or incorrectly receiving its video signal
- Layer 3 access
- Power and Data Lights only indicate video traffic accessibility; not general network accessibility
