Overview

AMP launched in 2022 as the replacement for JADConfig. AMP simplifies system deployment and maintenance while providing access to firmware improvements and product enhancements introduced over the past several years.

JADConfig-compatible switches have become increasingly difficult to obtain, making existing systems more challenging to maintain or expand. To provide a path forward for these installations, Just Add Power plans to expand AMP support for 2G(+) Series systems in Q4 2026.

End of Support Notice: Effective January 1, 2027, a system must be migrated from JADConfig to AMP before the Just Add Power Support Team can provide further troubleshooting or system service.

End of Support will not disable an existing JADConfig system. Systems may continue operating in their current configurations, and self-service documentation will remain available.

End of Support Timeline

Timeframe Support Status
Q4 2026 Expanded AMP support for 2G(+) Series systems is planned.
Through December 31, 2026 The Just Add Power Support Team will continue servicing existing JADConfig systems.
Beginning January 1, 2027 Just Add Power Support Team service will require the system to use an AMP topology.

What End of Support Means

Beginning January 1, 2027, the Just Add Power Support Team will not troubleshoot, modify, or service a system while it remains on a JADConfig topology.

Before Support Team service can continue:

  • The system must be migrated from JADConfig to AMP.
  • Any network switch that is not supported by AMP must be replaced.
  • The control system programming must be reviewed and updated as required for the AMP configuration.

Self-Service Resources: JADConfig documentation will remain available on the Just Add Power Support site after End of Support. These resources may be used to reference an existing configuration or perform self-directed maintenance.

Prepare for AMP Migration

Do not wait until a system failure to begin planning the transition. Migrating a JADConfig system may require switch replacement, device firmware changes, network reconfiguration, cable repatching, and control system programming.

Before scheduling the migration:

  • Document all Just Add Power devices, firmware versions, network switches, switch-port assignments, IP addresses, and control system information.
  • Confirm the exact model and hardware version of every switch against the AMP supported switch list.
  • Determine whether any switches or other system hardware must be replaced.
  • Select the AMP conversion procedure that matches the device series and switch topology.
  • Coordinate any required control system programming.
  • Schedule sufficient system downtime for the transition.

Planning a Transition? Coordinate with your Just Add Power Sales representative, system integrator, and control system programmer before purchasing hardware or changing the existing topology.

Migration Resources

This transition provides a consistent supported platform for system performance, firmware compatibility, future development, and technical support.
