[AMP] Submit Logs for Bug Report

Overview

We think Advanced Matrix Programmer is a pretty awesome program, and we work hard to ensure it adapts to changes in the AV Industry.

Every time AMP runs, it collects a log of all of the things it does. This log details everything that AMP has done to interact with the PC, switch, and Just Add Power devices.


Set Log Level

A normal diagnostic log setting will collect most of the relevant logging information needed to identify the source of an error. However, if more detailed logging is needed we will ask you to enable Debug level.

To enable Debug level go to the Top-Left Menu --> Help --> Set Log Level --> Debug. Then run through the program to the point that the error occurs.

Submit Log

Once all logs have been recorded by AMP, save and submit those logs to us for review.

  1. Go to the Top-Left Menu --> Help --> Submit Logs

  2. Save the resulting file to your desktop
  3. Compose an e-mail to [email protected]
  4. Set the Subject line to AMP log submission
  5. In the Body of the email, provide these details:
    • Standardized Configuration (through the Let's Go menu) or an Alternate Configuration?
    • What function were you running? Configure, Connect, Firmware Update, Add Device?
    • What was the last window you were on when the error occurred? Include a screenshot of the final window, if possible
    • Include a screenshot of the error message, if possible
  6. Attach the log file to the email
  7. Send the email

Once we review the logs, we will reply with next steps.
